On Monday November 2nd 2009, Detroit 6th Battalion companies responded to a reported dwelling fire on Philip Between E Jefferson & Essex. Upon arrival of Engine 38 they reported a vacant 2 family flat going throughout and they were stretching. Upon arrival of Chief 6 he assumed command, conducted an incident size up, And due to fire and building conditions ordered a defensive attack on this fire and protection of the exposure. Chief 6 request a 2nd truck to scene with a working water tower. Upon arrival Ladder 31's Ladder Pipe was put into operation. This fire was brought under control in aprox 2 hours. Engines 38/32/52 Ladder 14/31 Squad 6 and Chief 6 responded to this box alarm.
