On Monday November 2nd 2009, Detroit 9th Battalion companies responded to a reported vacant dwelling fire at Goulburn & Greiner. Upon arrival of Engine 50 they reported a single family dwelling totally involved and stretched on the dwelling. Due to fire and structure conditions Chief 9 ordered a defensive attack on this Dwelling & Protection of the exposure. Ladder 23's Ladder pipe was put into operation. This fire was brought under control in aprox. 1.5 hours. Engines 50/58/60 Ladder 23 Squad 6 and Chief 9 responded to this box alarm.
