On Thursday March 12th 2009, Detroit 8th Battalion companies responded to a reported dwelling fire in the area of E Davison & Gallagher. Upon arrival of Ladder 30 they advised the 1st Engine would be stretching on a 2-Family flat going on the 2nd floor on Charest South of E Davison. Upon arrival Engine 56 stretched on the fire. Upon size up and fire conditions upon arrival of Chief 8, All crews were pulled from the building and the water tower was put into operation. Companies operated at this fire from aprox. 2 hours to bring this fire under control. Engines 56/44/35 Ladders 30/16 Squad 5 and Chief 8 responded to this box alarm.
