On Thursday July 8th 2010. Detroit 9th Battalion companies responded to a report of a an apartment building on fire at Eastwood & Chalmers. Upon arrival of Engine 50 they reported a working fire in 3 story apartment building aprox 50 X 80. Ladder 23 assumed incident command until the arrival of the Chief and request an extra engine & truck. Upon making entry Engine 46 requested an additional squad for manpower. Crews make an aggressive interior attack and made good progress on the fire. Crews worked for aprox 2 hours to bring this fire under control. Engines 50/60/46/52/41/5 Ladder 23/31/16 Squad 6/3/2 Chief 6 responded to this incident. The temp. during this incident was aprox. 86 degrees.
