On Friday February 3rd 2012 Detroit 9th Battalion companies responded too a report of a commercial building on fire at Algonac & Sturgis. Upon arrival of Engine 60 they reported fire in a large commercial building and requested an extra engine and truck above the box alarm assignment. Chief 9 arrived on the scene and assumed incident command. Chief 9 requested a 2nd alarm due too the size of the building and fire conditions. A Defensive attack was performed on the building due too fire load and building condition. Chief 9 reported fire extending too another part of the building and then requested a 3rd alarm. This fire was fought in defensive mode throughout the morning with relief companies requested throughout the day. The Detroit Police make an arrest on a suspect for setting this fire and charges are now pending, Engines 50/46/60/47/52/58/5/9/17 Ladders 23/19/6/7/18 Squad 6/2 Chiefs 9/8 Cars 203/201/202 responded too this incident,
