Eastpointe RIT Training 11-20-08 (Black Shift) : During the month of November 2008 the crews of the Eastpointe Fire/Rescue Department took part in their annual RIT training. They practiced manuvers such as the Denver Drill, wall breach, entanglement, and 4 to 1 mechanical advantage. Scenarios included mayday drills and firefighter down situations.

Roseville 2nd Alarm 26641 Gratiot & Wildwood 12-07-08 (Black Shift) : On Sunday December 7th 2008, The Roseville Fire Department responded to a reported building fire at 26641 Gratiot & Wildwood. Upon arrival companies reported a working fire with heavy smoke showing. Eastpointe Truck 1 was Special Called to the scene on arrival of RFD. Fire was fought in Defensive Mode due to fire and building conditions. Upon starting Defensive Ops a 2nd Alarm was requested. St. Clair Shores, Warren, Clinton Twp & Harrison Twp FD responded to the 2nd Alarm. This fire was brought under control using 1 Tower, 1 Ladder Pipe and Several handlines. Companies operated for about 3 hours to bring the fire under Control. After the Fire was under control 2nd Alarm companies were released and Roseville FD remained for extended ops.

Eastpointe 21193 Beaconsfield 2-11-09 (Red Shift) : On Wednesday February 11th 2009 (Red Shift), At aprox. 0700 Eastpointe Fire Rescue received a report of a dwelling fire & explosion on Beaconsfield. Upon Dispatch multiple calls were received reporting the fire. Eastpointe Responded with a General Alarm assignment Engine 1 Truck 1. Upon arrival a dwelling was found at 21193 Beaconsfield well involved and collapsed with signs of explosion. Victims were found at the scene, Mutual Aid was requested for rescues from Harper Woods FD and St. Clair Shores FD. Eastpointe Engine 2 Utility 1 & 2 also made this scene with call back manpower. 1 Victim was transported with minor injuries and a second victim was transported with serious burns to Detroit Receiving Hospital. Off Duty call back were made for Manpower, Coverage, Chief & Fire Marshall. The cause is under investigation but appears to a Natural Gas Explosion.

General Alarm Dwelling Fire 16254 Bell & Gratiot 3-12-09 (Red Shift) : On Thursday March 12th 2009, Eastpointe Fire Rescue responded to a reported House Fire in the area of Bell & Gratiot. Upon clearing from another run Utility 2 arrived on the scene at 16254 Bell, With heavy fire showing from the rear of a 1.5 story dwelling with an attached garage. Upon arrival of Engine 1 water supply was established and fire attack was started. Upon conducting a size up. Eastpointe Command requested Engine 2 to respond to the scene as RIT. Upon arrival RIT was established and at that time command put Engine 2 crew to work and requested a special alarm from and Engine and Manpower from Roseville FD. Companies operated at this scene of aprox. 4 hours. Eastpointe Engine 1/2 Truck 1 Utility 2,Alpha 1 and Fire Marshal 1 responded to this alarm, With additional mutual aid from Roseville FD with Engine 2 and Battalion Chief.
